Kent adds Mutual Exchange
03/11/2010
The Kent Homechoice scheme has added the LHS Mutual Exchange Manager to its portfolio of services for housing applicants.
More than 750 tenants signed up to the service in the first week after its launch in October 2010.
Kent is the largest Choice Based Lettings scheme in the country, formed from 15 strategic authorities and 21 housing associations.
Housing applicants across Kent already enjoy a suite of services provided by LHS. Earlier this year, the scheme added Worklessness Manager in order to give housing officers the ability to point unemployed applicants towards professional help to get back to work.
The new Mutual Exchange service allows tenants who wish to swap their home to register and upload photo’s of their current property. They can also indicate their preferences for the type of property and the area they are hoping to live in – both inside and outside the Kent area.
Once a potential exchange is identified, housing staff are notified automatically so that they can broker the exchange.
