Bournemouth’s stand-alone scheme went live in June 2008 and runs on a weekly bid cycle.

Homechoice has approximately 7,200 applicants on the Housing Register making more than 50,000 bids a year on advertised properties. 

All available properties are advertised on its website and in a freesheet called Bournemouth Homechoice. In the last year almost 800 adverts were run leading to 566 completed lets. 

The scheme allows bids by telephone, on the internet, by coupon and by text. It also runs a Mutual Exchange facility.
