The Buckinghamshire scheme covers four district councils and handles approximately 30,000 bids a year from more than 9,000 housing applicants.

The scheme works on a fortnightly bid cycle and carries all the available properties for letting on its website. In the last year Bucks Home Choice carried nearly 1300 adverts leading to some 700 completed lets.

The scheme went live in May 2009 and boasts the largest open housing register in the country.

Additionally, applicants can apply from anywhere and to each of the district councils on the scheme – but the LHS system manages the multiple applications as a single application.
