Reading’s Homechoice stand-alone scheme went live in October 2008 and runs on a fortnightly bid cycle.

The scheme has approximately 5,700 applicants on the Housing Register making more than 60,000 bids a year on advertised properties. 

All available properties are advertised on Reading’s website and in a freesheet. In the last year almost 800 adverts were run leading to 468 completed lets. 

The scheme allows bids by telephone, on the internet, by coupon and by text.
