Easy Self-Assessment

Easy Self-Assessment provides Applicants with an Action Plan for the housing options most appropriate to them.

Applicants fill in a simple questionnaire about their current circumstances and the system provides them with a summary of the housing options available to them.

One option may be to continue and complete a full Housing Register application. In that case, the information already provided in the Easy Self-Assessment will pre-populate the relevant parts of the Application Form – the customer will not be asked repeat questions.

However, many Applicants will find that their Easy Self-Assessment Action Plan does not recommend joining the Housing Register. In those cases, information and advice will be provided on alternative options – such as private rented, shared ownership and homelessness prevention.

The Action Plan can be configured to provide information about local services and support. Web links take the Applicant directly to the websites they need for further information or to apply for help or services.

The Additional Support section provides extra help for vulnerable people. Applicants are pointed towards services that can help or support them in their particular circumstance. This includes sections for people with physical or sensory disabilities, the elderly, people with mental health problems and those at risk of domestic violence.
