My Gateway provides applicants with information relevant to them as individuals when they log on to the scheme website.

This “personalisation” of the applicant’s on-line experience is possible because of the information held on him or her on the on-line register (or other data uploads). The system checks the key data held on the applicant and prioritises the information on services and opportunities in a way that is relevant to that individual, guiding them quickly to the areas of the website most likely to be of use and interest to them.

The applicant can still access every area of the scheme website – My Gateway simply offers up those parts of the website most likely to be of interest to the applicant.

Each scheme partner is also able to promote and manage campaigns, based on their own or government-led initiatives. This might be links to get a flu jab, the ability to register for a vote or any other campaign thought relevant to that particular individual.

No installation is required as the system is web based and hosted by LHS. Gateway integrates seamlessly with all LHS modules, but can be implemented as a stand-alone system. Comprehensive report generation comes as standard.

Personalisation

Most websites are “static” environments where every user is presented with the same content. Users select the content they wish to view based on navigation and search results. This can be a fairly complex journey for housing applicants looking for specific information relevant to them.

Personalisation changes this relationship into an environment where the web assists the user by bringing to the forefront relevant content to them as an individual.

As with many IT definitions, the term “personalisation” has been misused and some confusion has grown around exactly what it is. “Personalisation” is now routinely, and incorrectly, used for everything from 'my favourite links' to targeted information.

Gateway is a true “personalisation” system as the experience can be changed to be different for every visitor based on a number of factors about them as individuals.

The relevant content is specifically targeted at the visitor - rather than relying on them to find it.
