The Government has introduced a new type of tenancy called "Affordable Rent" that can be offered by housing associations. 

These properties will be offered on a fixed term basis at a higher rent than other social housing. Affordable Rent levels can be set at up to 80% of rent levels in the private sector (traditional social housing is set at 40%).  

Properties need to be flagged within the Choice Based Lettings system as an “Affordable Rent” property. 

LHS, working in partnership with Cambridgeshire, has developed a toolkit for dealing with these types of properties. So when you are preparing the advert for an “Affordable Rent” property there are now a series of drop down lists and fields to drive the advert.

A reporting upgrade in the back office allows more flexibility in the reporting of customers and lettings transactions to ensure careful monitoring of the shortlisting result and recording the household the “Affordable Rent” home went to.

Our toolkit for Affordable Rent Advertising is now deployed in Kent, Sussex and Cambridgeshire,  with a number of other partnerships preparing to launch it soon.
